Every morning, before the world wakes up, my day has already begun.
As a working mum with a toddler and a job far from home, 3 a.m. has become a familiar hour. While my husband is still sleeping peacefully, I’m already in the kitchen preparing breakfast and packing lunch.
Sometimes, I can’t help but feel jealous. He wakes up hours after me, gets ready, and heads off to work, while I’m still at home making sure everything and everyone is ready before I leave. OMG, na only mothers waka come this earth to suffer?
I get my daughter ready, drop her off at school, and begin the long journey to work. After a full day at work, I’m back on the road to pick her up. The most funniest part of this is that my husband sometimes calls on my way back home saying "have you picked up my daughter"? Lol, your daughter? so annoying .
And when we finally get home, my work isn’t over. There’s dinner to prepare, things to organise, and another early morning to prepare for.
Some days, I’m exhausted. Some days, I feel like I’m running on nothing but living for my family.
But then I look at my daughter and remember why I do it all.
Motherhood can be beautiful and exhausting at the same time. I’m tired, I’m human, and sometimes I wish I can focus on family but then, been a full-housewife is not an option. We move!!!
